4 row pattern

Hello All !!
To the point…I found a pattern I wrote down from somewhere I have no idea of where. Some time ago. It just does not feel right and I gave tried searching for it w no luck. I do not like the look of it, but…
I wouldn’t have copied it if I wasn’t sure of it. So I copied wrong. Help!

With color B…
Row 1. K1, sl 1 wyib, to end of row. Turn work.
Row 2. s1 wyif, to end of row. Turn work.

With color A…
Row 3. s1 wyib, to end of row. Turn work.
Row 4. K1, s1 wyif, to end of row. Turn work.

I thought about the always turning work, or shld it be slid at some point? If you can help me, I’ll never forget you. Thanks . Sue.

I think you missed something in writing it down. I do that a lot! This looks like it might be for mosaic knitting where you would work row 1 to the end, turn, then knit or purl the stitches you worked on the previous row and slip the stitches you had slipped. Two color linen stitch comes to mind also.
Do you have any idea what it’s supposed to look like?

There are a couple of ways this can turn out depending on whether you cast on even or odd number sts and on how you interpret rows 2 and 3.
Here’s one way:
With color B…
Row 1.(K1, sl 1 wyib), to end of row. Turn work.
Row 2. (s1 wyif, K1) to end of row. Turn work.

With color A…
Row 3. (s1 wyib, K1) to end of row. Turn work.
Row 4. (K1, s1 wyif), to end of row. Turn work.

(ignore the initial rows which were just a border)

I think the pattern you have is for the linen stitchl—

Knitting the Linen Stitch

Linen Stitch is worked on an even number of stitches.

Row 1: *K1, slip 1 with yarn in front. Repeat from * to last stitch, k1.

Row 2: *P1, slip 1 with yarn in back. Repeat from * to last stitch, p1.

Repeat these two rows for pattern. When slipping stitches, always slip as if to purl.

Well-spotted!
Do you think it should be worked on an odd number of sts?

Yes it works on an even number of stitches.

Well, it’s the mystery pattern solved? Do we know what it should look like?

Unless it is a game, “knitting in the dark”

    I’m still thinking it could be mosaic or linen stitch. Those are the only slip stitch patterns that come readily to mind for me
