3 needle bind off

 I just did this awhile back on the Not So Vintage Bubble Bag, but CANNOT remember how for the life of me :roflhard:

When doing the 3NBO, is it necessary to transfer the live stitches equally to 2 dpns from circulars and use the 3rd dpn to bind off or can I just leave the stitches on the circs and do the 3NBO with a dpn? I WILL WRITE DOWN YOUR SUGGESTION NEXT TIME:)

Joyce

You can put the two circ ends together, and bind them off with a third needle. Have the right sides together.

Thanks Ingrid…I thought that was the method I used the last time…but didn’t want to try it without making certain I wouldn’t be frogging in a few :roflhard:

Did you see Amy’s video for it??

Yes…and it’s easy as pie…just couldn’t remember if I took the last handbag off of the circs and onto dpns or not…the video isn’t clear about whether you can leave the stitches on the circs and to the bind-off with the dpn.

Edited:) Also, I’m using size 13 circs…I’m wondering what size dpn to use for the bind off.

I would use the same or maybe a size larger.

One would think that I would remember since I did it a month or so ago  Thanks again!

I’ve been knitting a long time, but if there’s a stitch I haven’t done in a while, I still have to double check.

I’ve just taken a bite of chocolate, so life is getting better :cheering: …here’s a little problem that I’ve encountered with trying to leave the stitches on the circs…the cable is trying to pull the stitches…so, I’m thinking about doing the bind off (leaving the stitches on the circs as long as possible, dividing equally among the 2 needles, then removing the cable and putting something (like one of those needle protectors) on the end of the circs and finish the bind off—what do you think?

FORGET THAT METHOD :roflhard: I just pushed the remaining stitches equally onto the circs, moved the cable out of the way and finished the bind off…whewwwwww :happydance:

Yes, sometimes keeping it simple is best. I’m glad it worked out for you.
