100% Mercerized Cotton

I know I have asked this before. But Is there a tank top or some other pattern that would be easy for 100% Mercerized Cotton?? Thanks

I think this one is really pretty!

What’s the gauge on your yarn? Mercerized cotton can come in a variety of weights, from laceweight to bulky.

Here’s a pattern that uses 100! mercerized cotton: http://www.tahkistacycharles.com/free_patterns/cotton_classic.pdf. I highly recommend Cotton Classic.

If you already have yarn and it’s either sportweight or dk weight, you could knit Picovoli: http://www.magknits.com/Aug05/picovoli.htm. The pattern calls for Debbie Bliss Cathay, but you could substitute a 100% mercerized cotton. Actually, I made Picovoli with KP Shine, but want to use 100% mercerized cotton the next time I make one. I just made Green Gable with mercerized cotton and love it!

Thank you !! I don’t remember what the gague is, I have some saucy brand and then some from Hobbly Lobby thats a different brand. When I get home i’ll post what the gague is

I was looking at my cotton this morning, and one is sport weight, and the other is renyonlds (sp?) Suacy (sp?) and it said to use size 7 needles. But thank you for all the suggestions. I am in a knitting funk, i’m not sure what I want to knit.

I LOVE that tank! :inlove:  :inlove:

How many yards do you have of each? I’m guessing ballpark figure, depending on the gauge of yarn and weight it would take 500 to 800 yards for a tank.

I just made a top from 100% mercerized cotton, even though that’s not the yarn the pattern called for.

It was easy with the cotton yarn, and it turned out pretty good.

This Tea cosy is lovely to knit if you’re a tea drinker.
