0511 aran coat with large collar

Hi all,

Im louise an new to knitting forum. I need help with the above pattern, as anyone done this pattern and if so cn you help with the collar instructions I am so struggling with it

Hello
We’ll need a bit more information to be able to help you.
Is this a Debbie Bliss child’s pattern? Or who is the designer or publisher? Or a link to where you bought the pattern would be helpful.

You can also quote a line or two from the pattern, exactly as written, for the section you’re stuck on.

There’s lots of help here, I’m sure you’ll get help with the tricky bit.

Hi i have attached a photo shot of where I am on the pattern it is a debbie bliss pattern. Im ok doing the first bit after that I just dont understand as it doesn’t match up with the panel pattern.

Welcome to the forum!

Maybe this pattern.
It can be really confusing when each row is labelled “Next Row.”
For this collar, the cast on sts are at the inside edge of the collar, at the beginning of the wrong side (WS) rows. Later the increase sts are at this same inside edge.
Here’s a video for casting on at the beginning of a row in case that helps.

This photo shows blue dots for the right side (RS) rows. See if that helps and if not come back and ask again.

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aran-coat-with-large-collar its this one, its when I have to start on the pattern panel its confusing. As when I add the panel c r1 3sts then turn it it doesn’t match to the second row of panel c

Can you post a little of panel c?
If it’s a chart you can crop a photo so we just get the first few rows. It would help to know what the sts are if they dont sem to be matching for you.

Thanks for the link.
I thought it was that cardigan, it’s so cute!

Edited to add. This ravelry member started a help topic on ravelry about the collar and posted a link in their project notes, which is very helpful. See if it solves your problem. You can still ask here of course but but could be just what you need.

I wonder about the beginning of panel C. For the row with the cast on of 3 you essentially cast on at the beginning of the row then knit those 3sts just cast on and proceed with the 3rd row of D. When you turn, you’re on row 4 of D and then work p2 and increase in the next stitch (panel C). Does that not fit with panel C?
