I’m not sure why anyone would want to know more about me, but here goes! I am an actor and ‘artist’, working in various media; acting-wise I mostly now do audio work because I have moved from Oxford in the UK (I’m English) to Hong Kong - I record audio books and plays, and enjoy doing that very much. I also work with students at the university where I am based with my neuroscientist partner who is master of a college here, on presentation skills. I find, to my amazement, that I both love and am good at teaching. On the art front, I work mostly in fabric these days. I have had four one-woman exhibitions in London, three of them at the Royal National Theatre, the best gallery in London, in my opinion - three captive audiences from their three theatres, and open from 9 in the morning till around 11 at night 7 days a week; who could ask for more!? I knit more for relaxation than anything else; I just love the process of making things, and knitting has a portability that is very important if, like an addiction, you feel miserable if you are not making something. My pictures are ‘thread paintings’, I ‘draw’ with a sewing machine. Technically I guess I’m what is known as an ‘art quilter’. And I also illustrate books, in that case in the medium of pen and ink. I have two small dogs, who came with me to Hong Kong, a Coton de Tulear called “Tycho” and a Havanese called “Cuba”.
