You were RIGHT!

A couple of years ago I placed a picture of this plant up and said “what is it.” It had overgrown it’s pot and I was trying to determine what it was before I went about hacking at it. My mother had the plant in her classroom for years and it never bloomed or did anything so she had given it to me and for 4yrs it had done nothing. The consensus of the board was Peace Lilly. I have to admit I thought you were off your rockers b/c I have 2 large peace lilly’s that look nothing like this one. WELL I hacked it back and would you believe it has started blooming every couple of months and by golly IT IS a peace lilly !

Told you so, told you so!! It looks beautiful and healthy!

There are various varieties of “Peace Lilies”. Their botanical name is Spathiphyllum if you care. You can look it up on line and find out how to care for them and probably more about the varieties than you want to know.

You did the right thing cutting it back. Most plants need that so the energy will go into blooms rather than leaves. You did good! Jean
