I’m knitting a string market bag, something I used to knit years ago. (Ive been crocheting for the last 5 years). Can’t find the original pattern but know this one is practically the same
I made quite a few of these but I dont remember this part of the pattern being so awkward.
After the YO K2TOG row, there a knit row. But where ive yarned over, its not easy to get my needle in and im not enjoying it! Please see picture for how it looks.
If you slide that yo loop off the needle the stitch count will decrease. Knitting the stitch closes up the yo (similar to a M1). You could knit the yo through the back loop which would be easier, maintain the stitch count and leave an eyelet at each yarn over.
It looks like the yo at the tip of the needle is oriented in reverse when compared to the following yarn over. That following yo should be easy to knit because of its orientation. Is this bag knit in the round?
The yarn over at the red arrow is the correct orientation, leaning to the left. The one at the yellow arrow is the reverse orientation, leaning to the right.
This video is about increases but in the beginning it demonstrates the yarn over and reverse yarn over.

This isn’t what you asked about, but perhaps check the last stitch worked too, the one on the right needle, it looks like you might have dropped your blue strand on that k2tog.
The 2 colours look good worked together for your bag.
YO and RYO both have their purposes. A RYO uses less yarn and comes in handy for helping balance out the size of yo eyelets in patterns where some come between knits and some between a knit and a purl or a purl and a knit. In this case the only issue I see is recognizing the stitch orientation and knitting tbl if needed. When the knitting is done it’s never going to show that some yo’s were done the opposite way. I like the colors you’re using.
