YF same as YO?

Hi, I just came across a pattern that says Yarn Forward to make 1. Is this the same technique the same as Yarn Over?

Yes.

YF can sometimes be used in a way that doesn’t make an extra stitch – YF, slip some stitches as if to purl, YB, go on with knitting – but if they have the “to make one”, or if it’s YF followed immediately by a k stitch, or something, then it’s a YO.
