I have a question about this pattern instruction:yf, s1, k1…
Question - does the yarn stay in front when the knit stich is done?
Thanks, Angela

I’m a very novice knitter and recently ran into the same question.
From what I understand (and please correrct me if I am wrong), the yarn is carried in front of the slipped stitch and then you put it back where it belongs for the knit stitch.
If you give it a try you will see it creates a nice firm edge. I have seen this used in sweater and vest edges.
Thanks. That is what I thought. I just needed confirmation…

Orrrr, it may be that the yf is like a yo. What’s the whole line of the pattern like and are there any decreases in it?
