Yet another question

Hi everyone!! I am working on a hat on 2 needles. The instructions read:Cut yarn, leaving a 24 inch tail. With yarn needle thread yarn through remaining live stitches Pull TIGHT! Turn hat inside out and sew seam.
So my question is which side to I start to sew the live stitches? The side near the pointy end of the needle (where the yarn is now) or the other side (you know, the one with the # on it)

I think you want to thread the tail through the OTHER side of the “live stitches” – that way it closes the circle of the top of your hat.

I’m always nervous about that kind of stuff though – if that pice of yarn breaks sometime later – than pooF the hat comes undone. I don’t know if that’s a normal fear… but hey… that’s me. I’d probably cut an extra piece of yarn and feed that through too “just in case”

So your hat kinda looks like this, with the tail coming out one end – I’d start threading through the side where I put the XX’s

   XX 0000000--------------- (tail)

Great graphic, Jessica!

Yeah, Jessica! Nice illustration!!!

Thanks…I figure if the hat lasts a year, with a 3 yr old wearing it, it will be a miracle!!!
Jessica, your illustration made my “pointy” description laughable!!
thank you!!
