Yarns for afghans

Hi everyone, its been awhile. Does anyone have some suggestions. I would like to knit an afghan in cotton or cotton blend,but it has to be 4sts to an inch on a 8,or9 needle. could really use your help. wendy S

If you’re looking for a light yarn, Coats and Clarks, TLC Cotton Plus is nice. It’s around $2.70 a skein, 178 yards. It is a dk/medium weight, which works up nicely on size 8s and the blend is 51% cotton, 49% acrylic. It’s a smooth yarn and washes beautifully. Mary

I’d also opt for a blend…the Cotton Plus is very nice. 100% cotton can get VERY heavy if the afghan is sizeable.
