Yarn?

hi

i am nearly at the point i can start practasing to learn to crochet again.

i want to learn in the round with a view to making a throw blanket for my 4 year olds bed for summer.

i have some cotton yarn, dk and 4 ply whats the best to practise on please?

as the idea od the blanket is to use up odds of yarn i don’t want to buy any new. i would rather not use the cotton as i have a plan to learn lace knitting after i have gotten rid of the bags and bags of yarn i have

I’d practice on the 4-ply. The usual advice is to use a light color so you can see your stitches and a sturdy acrylic so it can be ripped out several times if you feel the need. You know what you want, like, and have on hand. Look for “round ripple blanket” or “round ripple afghan”–that’ll give you a round blanket that isn’t hard, will teach you increasing and decreasing, and looks nice when it’s done. Ummm, wait a minute, it’s here somewhere…I’ll check Crochetville…here’s one variation:

Or a star-shaped one:

i love the baby blanket :happydance: . i will have a go at that one i think.

see where i can get stuck first hehe :aww:

thanks so much for the pattern and the yarn advise
