Yarn suggestions wanted

My mom would like me to make [B]this scarf[/B] for her to give to her sister for Christmas. (My mom and my aunt have a “sock monkey” thing going on…)

It calls for sport or fingering weight yarns to be carried double (to make the tweedy look in the middle). Pretty much all I can get here is worsted and thicker.

Can anyone give me suggestions of what yarn to get and where and I can buy it? (I will need online store…)

I need cream, medium-dark brown, and red. I don’t care if it’s wool, cotton, acrylic, blends, etc… as long as it isn’t too scratchy.

Bernat Softee Chunky Marls will give you that look with a single strand. There is a sock Monkey Blanket pattern that uses that yarn.
