I really like the three-quarter sleeve top that appears on page 38 of the spring/summer 2006 issue of KnitSimple magazine. It’s the one listed with the “explore options” caption.
It calls for Contrasto yarn, which is made by Skacel. According to Yarndex, this is a flat, woven silk/nylon blend, heavy worsted weight yarn. Unfortunately, I’d need 31 balls of yarn for the pattern, and at an MSRP of $9.95/ball, it’s a little pricey.
I’d really appreciate suggestions concerning a substitute yarn for this one! I was thinking of using multiple strands of worsted weight yarn, but I don’t want it to be too heavy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
