Yarn sub (disregard, found a better pattern)

I found a pattern I would like to try, but I don’t have the yarn called for. The pattern calls for linen yarn. I don’t have any, however I do have a boat load of cotton/poly blend DK that works up at a close gauge(1/2 a stitch larger). Can I use this instead of the linen that is called for?

I found a pattern I like even better and it calles for the cotton/poly blend I have on hand.
