Yarn stretched after dry cleaning?

I made a moebius scarf last year out of Manos del Uruguay. I had it dry cleaned, and now it’s a lot longer than it was when I finished it! I want to shrink it, but I don’t want to end up felting the stupid thing. :thinking:

Does anybody have any ideas? Will gently washing and blocking make it contract again? I REALLY don’t want to end up with it even longer than it is.

I’m in the midst of making a hat and mittens to match it. Waaah! :frowning:

I’m not really sure about the answer to your question, but it does seem like most wool stuff has a tendency to grow! I can’t believe how much bigger some of my stuff gets after a couple of wearings.
