i am still having difficulty in understanding what dropping a yarn over means…is it the same as slipping it. When I am in the next row after doing the yarnover…and the pattern says to drop the yarnovers…how many stitches will I be dropping with each yarnover?

When you get to the yarn over, you slip it off of the left needle and let it drop off of your knitting. Do not slip it to the right needle. slip if off for good! lol. And from my understanding, dropping a yarn over only drops that stitch… no others.

It can also depend on how many times you wrap your yarn over. I have a drop-stitch shawl OTN right now and I wrap the YO’s 3 times to get a nice long drop stitch… so that means I drop all 3 wraps. But of course it’s still all one stitch…
