Yarn over at beginning of row

[I]'ve been knitting for years but this is the first time I have encountered this step. I have to yo at the beginning of each row (Stockinette). Can anyone please help me?

Thank you.

I know it seems weird. If you are on a knit row, just run the working yarn over the top of the right hand needle and then take it to the back so you are ready to knit. Knit the stitch from there and you will have made a yarn over at the beginning of the row
