i really want to knit this for a friend… http://www.knitty.com/issuewinter06/PATTtiffany.html due to health problems, she can only wear mittens… no gloves.
my q is, this friend doesn’t always remember things like hand wash, and i know we would both be heart broken if she felted her mittens.
could it be knitted in kp crayon/

Crayon is a cotton yarn and wouldn’t be very warm. You could look for washable wools, or wool/acrylic blends like Lion’s Woolease or Paton’s Decor.
Yeah I should think a washable wool would do nicely. You could even use a soft acrylic but they probably wouldn’t be quite as warm.

Heh, I find acrylics too warm sometimes. They don’t stand up to getting wet though.
