Yarn help! Legwarmers

I’m in the process of wanting to knit legwarmers. The pattern does not give what type of yarn so I purchased Vanna White (LionBrand) 100% Acrylic/100% Acrylique/100% Acrilico and net weight 3.5oz/100g 170 yds Will this yarn be good for my project? Should the yarn have a % of wool or doesn’t it matter?

Thank you

The fiber content is largely a matter of preference. I prefer wools because they are warmer and breathe. I am always cold, so I need all the help I can get.

As for your pattern and Vanna White yarn, what gauge does the pattern require? Needle size? What gauge is the Vanna yarn? (This info is on the yarn label.)

candice

Vanna yarn is a worsted, and I don’t see where there’d be a problem using it. Acrylic can be quite warm.

That’s the problem there is no gauge. Cast on 30sts with 7 1/2 mm needles and that’s it. On the Valla White yarn 9 (5.5mm) 16sts.

7.5mm are a bit smaller than 11s - does the pattern say which yarn to use, it might a thick one.

I love you all because I was just researching how to knit legwarmers when I found this.

I just finished up a pair of legwarmers for my grand daughter out of LionBrand MicroSpun. They worked up beautifully. :happydance:Hereare some patterns that may help you discover what your weight of yarn will need in the way of CO sts and such.
