can someone explain yarn forward and yarn back. I get confused as to when to bring the yarn towards me or away from me. Thanks
lol!
That’s why I love the way I’m knitting (where you hold the working yarn with the left hand).
It’s so easy to bring the yarn forward/backwards.
I guess you are knitting english style, but for that I’m not proficient…
sorry
I am knitting English style, and the pattern says : WYB. I didn’t know which way is front and which way is back.
“back” is the side away from you; “forward” is the side toward you.
If it helps, you can think of it this way: when the yarn is in back, it is in the position that you would have it in to do a knit stitch; when the yarn is forward, it is in the position you would have it in to do a purl stitch. ![]()
Forward is the side that’s facing you, toward you; back is the side that’s away from you.
thanks everyone!!!
