Yarn forward question

I think I’m probably being stupid here but, not having knitted for some years, I’m a bit puzzled. I’ve reached the border of a cardigan pattern and have to do the following to begin it: Row 1: Yfwd, k2tog, yfwd, k7, yfwd, k2tog, k1 (13 stitches)

My problem is, how do I begin a row with yfwd? I’ve only ever yfwd-ed in the middle of a row.

Bring the yarn up over the needle from the front to the back and then knit those first 2 stitches. You’ll get the yo on the edge.

Thank you kindly for that speedy reply :muah:
