momwolf inspired me to make this puppy. It says it requires worsted or DK weight but the gauge is 6.5 sts. per inch which sounds more like a sport weight yarn to me. What weight do you think I should use?
I found it doesn’t really matter because the size doesn’t change much,Just use a small needle to keep the sts as small as possible so the stuffing doesn’t show through.Have fun I’m almost done with my second one ,just have sweater to do :cheering:
For a knitted toy, you want to knit at a smaller gauge than usual so the stuffing doesn’t show and the toy doesn’t get all floppy. I’d use worsted, personally.
That pattern is too cute, by the way!
What needle size did you use, momwolf? Should I still use a larger size for the sweater?
I think you should try using a sport weight. Fingering weight would take you too long and worsted might let the stuffing through. Adorable pattern btw.
Adorable puppy! what is the pattern? :??
I used the needles it calls for, was not worried about gauge. If you are going to make a colored dog I would use size 2 & 4.The yarn I have used is Caron Simply Soft which is worsted weight.
The puppy is just adorable!!!
I was going to buy the pattern but it says “sold out”, How can a PDF file be sold out? :??
Thank you, momwolf!!!

Ginny G keep going back because she adds more when it runs out.I was just there and she has 3 on there now.I think she adds just so many at a time
Thanks, I was confused because you would think a PDF download would be unlimited!!
