I need soft yarn suggestions for a hat for a teenage boy who’s going through chemo. What have you used?
I used a cotton/acrylic blend. I wanted it soft and it had to go in the washer and dryer.
The skin on chemo patients is very sensitive and many sites recommend avoiding wool or any animal fiber. Soft cotton blends are good and soft acrylics. Some like RHSS are really not soft enough.
I usually use Berroco Comfort myself. Here’s a few of my more recent hats. Haven’t done them for awhile.

I like Berocco Comfort myself. I’m also using Universl Yarn Inc’s Cotton Supreme right now and it would be very nice for a chemo cap, very soft (4-5sts/inch).
Add me to the list of Berocco Comfort fans. I use it for baby blankets and bunny lovey’s. My boys both have afghans I made them w/ Berocco Comfort and they wash and dry really well.
I’ve also made baby sweaters with Berroco Comfort.
