Yarn do you use for making baby hats, booties

What yarn do you use for making baby hats, booties? It’s been nine years since I crochet my one and only baby afghan. I am about to be great grand mom time three!

Anything soft and washable. I usually use a good quality acrylic or acrylic blend, but even a washable wool would be good especially if the baby (babies??) live in a cold climate. These are the ones I’ve often used. The links go to Ravelry where you can see what the yarn looks like and what people say.

I usually use Caron Simply Soft. It washes up nice and it’s soft. The place I donate to prefers all acrylic yarn be used incase someone has a fiber allergy.
