Yarn dilemma

ok, so i got my student loan money, my bills are paid and i have quite a bit left… i’ve budgeted $100 for stuff i want to buy (yarn winder is one of them!) although i can go a bit over…cloud9

I want to make some socks and some sweaters (baby ones, like the ones on the drops websites):knitting:

so…

Any suggestions on yarn? I’m not sure if i’m going to go for some interchangeable needles too (any suggestions? my favorites right now are the Susan Bates knitting needles so something similar would be good, and i HATE boyes with a passion!):teehee:

Woo Hoo! I would go to knitpicks.com & go nuts. I have the Harmony interchangeables and I love them. I have some of their yarn but haven’t tried a whole lot of them.

I covet the fall sock sampler (kettle dyed) yarn there bigtime- and I haven’t even knit any socks yet.

Their prices are reasonable, $50 order = free shipping, and they have great customer service.

If you don’t have a LYS to spend the money at- that is where I would go!

Hi! :waving:

If you’re looking for a ball winder, AC Moore carries them for $40.50 full retail. HOWEVER, you can go on line to the AC Moore site and print out a 40% off coupon, which is good for any one full-priced item. Call your local AC Moore first to make sure they have one in stock and then use your coupon, girl! I hope you have an AC Moore near you since the coupons don’t apply to on-line sales!

If you’re looking at interchangeable needle sets, check out Knit Picks Options. I LOVE my set, they’re incredible to work with. I’ve also done some projects with Knit Picks yarns and they are also reasonably priced for the quality.

Whatever you buy, just enjoy the experience!!! And then wallow in the joy of making the beautiful things you envision!
