I’m just going to drop all my projects right now and knit some wool socks, wool mittens/gloves and a nice, huge blanket, I think… I’m so cold! It’s snowing outside and my daughter stole a blanket from me… :waah: and yeah… warmth is important! Really, it is!!
Go for it! Sometimes ya just gotta take care of business (for yourself!). 
Start with the mittens, Hon… the hands are in need the most in this kind of weather… and then, when your hands are nice and warm, you will be able to use them to knit whatever you want.
I’m wearing fingerless gloves right now while I’m typing and thanking myself over and over for knitting them up… take but a minute and so worth it!

My daughter lives in Jonesboro and it’s been colder there, than here in northern IL, the last several days. And it’s not exactly warm here. [/FONT]
Not to rub it in but I’m in sunny warm southwest FL. I do not envy you Northeners with this terrible cold storms going around. I always thought I wish I lived somewhere a little cooler to have a reason to knit warm clothing…well I’ve changed my mind.
Lol, glad you changed your mind, breezd! Glad I helped with that… I think… Yeah, started mittens and the first pair are for my daughter… because I started knitting and even though I got a gauge swatch, I was still a little off- so! Yeah, her wrists are small. I’m totally winging this, though. So far, I have an 18 row cuff in ribbing, which is 2 1/2" long, which for her is about right. Her little stick-figure arms, etc… you know. I need to increase ten stitches in about two inches or less(probably fourteen rows). Two inches up is where her thumb joins her hand. I’m thinking of increasing two stitches on an increase row, which is five increases. That would leave nine rows not increased in that two inches. I might start every other row increase then the last two increase, so that would be eight rows that the increase encompass. I also have to think of a pattern I want on the things. Do I want cables? ooooohhhh cables… Do I want something like a seed stitch or another repeating stitch? Yeah, that’s going to be tough to decide. Hers will have to be narrow and long. Her little hands are 7" circumference at their largest and pretty much that long. I’m thinking her hands are probably about 2 1/2" across… I’ll have to measure that to know for sure but I got the circumference and that’s all that matters! These will be mittens and I will be reading up on what to do for the thumb gusset, as well. Oh, her thumb hole will have to be bigger than her thumb… that would be a pita to knit something that small! Yeah, still working on this…
