WS or RS facing you?

Good morning
I’m currently knitting a jacket in basket stitch, I’m just about to start shaping the raglan but I’m a bit confused as I worked the back until I reached 55cm and it states “ending with a WS row, now row 1 is a WS row and I’ve just finished on a row 3 which is a WS row but is the WS facing you or is it facing away.

The bottom picture is the right side

Thanks Jo, so when you are in the middle of knitting a wrong side row, is the wrong side facing away from you? I think it’s because i’m knitting on circular needles i’m getting confused.

I assume you’re knitting flat on circular needles? In which case if you are on the WS the top picture will be facing you. A tip i like to use is I put a lockable stitch marker anywhere on the RS of my work so I know which side is which. What is the name of your pattern?

Thanks Jo, yes I am knitting flat on circular needles, that makes sense, the stitch marker is a good idea. Thanks for replying so quickly.
