Wrap

I saw a lady wearing a beautiful wrap and I want to make it. The closest thing I could find for a pattern was the "oscillation wrap from ravelry. So anyway, the wrap was loosely cabled on top and the rest was garter stitch. then at the waist area was stockinette with a keyhole. I love this pattern and it seems like it would be easy - but I cant find it anywhere! Anyone know what I mean?? Maybe an experienced knitter could take my description and make me a pattern??? Any help would be greatly appreciated

No garter section, but how about this one?

Thanks- It did look similar But I’m afraid of making a wrap with lots of cables-I’ve never done it before!

Cables look harder than they are, you cross the sts by knitting them out of order which the pattern tells you how, only one row out of every 6 or 8. The rest of the time the rows are like ribbing with knits and purls on the same rows.

Here’s another with the keyhole type design - this one’s free. While it, too, has lots of cables, you could just leave them out and use garter stitch or whatever stitch you’re more comfortable with. And like Suzee said, cables just look scary, they really aren’t that difficult.

I have two patterns, right away:

And this was the one I was really looking for:

Oh, and learn how to cabel. It is really easy, once you know how.
I read somewhere: If you want to make your knitting impressive quickly, learn how to cable: very little efford and very big effect. And even non-knitters feel impressed!

Your third was was almost exactly what I was looking for! But I decided to make it on my own- from memory- and yes- I will learn how to cable! Thanks so much!!:knitting:

sounds great! Have fun designing your own. And let us see pictures.
