I am working on the brim for baby sun hat. I’ve never done wrap & turn before. The stitch is explained in beginning of pattern and I’ve watched several videos. So when I do the wrap, I leave the yarn in back and turn. Next row is a knit and the following row is knit. When I get to wrapped stitch on the 2nd knit row, I think I pick up wrap with right needle front to back and place on left needle with long leg in back(if that makes sense) and knit the wrapped stitch and wrap together. The directions never explained that, just knit to end of row. They only said in stitch directions that wrapped stitch will be picked up later. I’ve done one complete set of 16 rows and working on the second set. Wanted to make sure I’m doing this correctly.
Wrap & turn
For garter stitch where you knit each row, it’s not necessary to pick up the wrap. (Some directions don’t even call for a wrap much less a turn.) The fabric created with garter stitch is so thick that it’s really not necessary.
You may have seen this video already but at about 8:00min the way to wrap is demonstrated but not really used for the remaining short row wraps.
