Wow,, i'm kinda disappointed

i’m korean, so i was searching knit picks needles on a korean site, and found out that they were indeed selling knit picks harmony wood in Korea (it’s the same needle, just different name - Knit Pro needles… i think)

and they had 40cm (16 in) harmony interchangeables… i was like OMG… but it’s kinda expensive… they dont have a set for that so 3.5,4,4.5,5mm + 40cm cable is about 35 dollars… still, it’s 16 in interchangeable… i thought it would be nice to have them

also, addi turbo circulars were so much cheaper…
2.0,2.5,3,3.5,4mm circulars were 5 dollars each
4.5,5,5.5,6mm circulars were about 6 dollars each and
7,8 mm circulars were about 7 dollars each!
they were selling bigger size needles, 10,12,15,20mm ones…

so I’m probably gonna ask some friends to order them for me and get them when i visit korea… hmm… that might be so much better
i would have almost a complete set of addi circulars and not spend so much… almost 14 dollars per needle isnt a good price… i mean addi turbo being sold in korea’s like 3 times cheaper than here… i was so excited AND disappointed…

it’s only $62 to get sizes from 2-8mm addi turbo… you could only get like 4 addi turbo here with 62 bucks… 11 addi turbos for 62 bucks???

i just wanted to mention this… :]

BTW, one of the harmony interchangeable kits were about $100 and included:

3.5mm, 4.0mm, 4.5mm, 5.0mm, 5.5mm, 6.0mm, 7.0mm, 8.0mm needles (2 each)

60cm (24 in), 80cm (32 in), 120cm (47 in), 150cm (60 in)

Clear Vinyl Needle Case

Clear Vinyl Cable Case

End Plastic Caps - 8

Tightening Allen Keys - 4

i think that’s awesome for $99.99

I just want to mention that there are many fake Addi’s on the internet. So maybe those for 5-6$ are not the real deal. If they are expensive in Germany, where they are made, why would they be cheaper in Korea. You can also order Knit Picks needles from getknitted.com, they ship worldwide.

If you have money to blow on possibly not Addi needles, I don’t see why you shouldn’t, but as KN says above, the Net is rife with stories about Addi needles bought in Asia that aren’t actually Addi. I’d make sure you send a friend who knows what Addi needles actually look like and feel like. (Maybe send an example of a real Addi Turbo with them?) When I was in HK I saw some of them, but didn’t knit then, so didn’t know what I was actually looking at. I haven’t heard if there are KP fakes, though.

I got several pair of Addi on EBay that turned out to be fake. Now I only buy my needles from reputable online or local yarn shops. Buyer beware: if it’s too good to be true, then it’s probably a fake.

I don’t know where you live, but here in the States on the knitpicks website you get that same harmony interchangeable set, with 4 cables (though 2 each of 2 sizes rather than 1 each of 4 sizes) and all the same accessories for $74.
