Would this soap sack work as a sachet as well?

I’m having trouble finding a sachet pattern that will work for me. I found this soap sack pattern and I was wondering if anyone knows whether it would work as a sachet as well?

Here is what I’m planning on putting in it.

I don’t see why not if you use a light yarn so the scent can come through.
