Working on a Baby Blanket, Fond a hole where it shoundn't be

I am working on a baby blanket and almost finish and
i find a hole that should not be where it is. So now I have to rip out at least 12 inches of work to get down to the row where
i can fix it.

Can you hear me screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! ? I hate when that happens. I tell myself knitting is knitting so it’s all good. Sometimes I almost believe it.

Oh, ugh. No way to ladder down to the hole and fix it?

Or if not ladder down could a duplicate stitch draw it together?

I am thinking it was accidental yarn over that created that hole. There was not a dropped stitch to ladder up . I am in the process of unknitting my work , one row at a time. So far, I have undone about 4 inches and still have a ways to go to get to the row with the hole.

A bit of excess yarn like from a yo can often be distributed across the row. It depends if it is detailed lace but usually when I start distributing yarn it’s disappeared after about 7 or 8 stitches. You can go both directions with it too.

I didn’t notice the hole until I was measuring the length to see how long it was getting. That was when I saw it. I am using feather and fan pattern with the 4th row purled on the wrong side instead of knitting it.

That’s a lovely pattern stitch. It’s worth taking it back however painful just so you know it’s as perfect as you can make it. I’m sorry that it’s so many rows but somehow it always seems to knit back more quickly. Good luck with it!

The hole was in the K2tog area instead of the K1 YĹŤ area. I stared unknitting it last night and did 4 inches before I went to bed. Right now, I have 4 1/2 more inches to un knit

It I’ll be worth all the effort.

It took me three days to unknit those 12 inches but I stuck with it. I got to the row with hole about 3:25 pm today and undid that accidental yarnover and reknit the rest of the row. Now I am back to knitting it.

We are cheering you on! Good going.

Blanket is finished! Once I get both blankets steamed, I will take a picture of both and post it here.
