I am making this pattern here - its a pdf file

and I’m having a problem with the neck area. It says keeping in garter stitch at neck correct pattern next 2 stitches, slip onto a safety pin, pattern to end.

So do I work the 2 stitches knit and slip them onto the safety pin…and then do I work another 2 stitches knit (for the 4 stitch edge) or is it 4 stitches AFTER I slip the first 2? Or do I not knit the first two - just slip and do 4 knit stitches?

I am so confused! I hope this is worded clearly enough, because it made my head spin trying to explain it.

I think you’re supposed to work the first 4 in garter and then work the next two in knit for the left neck edge and then slip the 6 to a holder.

When you work the right side, you’ll work the first 4 in garter and then work the next 2 in purl for the right neck edge and slip the 6 to a holder.
