I’m unclear as to what that means.
The pattern reads :
Work even 6, BO 18 work to end of round(DPN’s). Begin working back and forth. The first 6 sts of the round becomes the last 6 sts of the row.
I think I’ve got a grasp, but I want to be completely sure.

Well, you’ve been working in the round but after the row given there you will not work in the round anymore. Work 6 sts, bind off 18 and work to the end of the round. Then I believe you would go ahead and work the 6 stitches that were on the first needle, then turn and work back across the stitches you have left on the needle just like it was flat knitting. Keep working back and forth across those stitches.

That sounds right to me, Merigold.
NimbleKnitter, have you done socks? It sounds similar to working a heal flap (except a sock wouldn’t bind off sts) but the back and forth is the same. Knit as if flat.
What is the UFO? Can you share a link to the pattern?
