The hood for a baby sweater pattern has a number of m1 stitches, and slipped stitches, in the preceding four rows, then says “Keeping the pattern on the hood edge as worked in these 4 rows, work straight without shaping for another 6.5 inches.” What does “work straight” actually mean? And for each m1 stitch made in pattern, do I simply knit or purl that extra stitch in each row? Thank you!
Welcome to the forum!
“Work straight” means to continue in pattern without any increases or decreases.
For the increased sts, keep them in the pattern, either knits or purls.
What is the name of the pattern you’re following?
