Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
this is what Jesus said.
Work is honorable, and Jesus was saying here, that, we should all work, and have enough to give to him that needeth.
Yes, giving to others to help them over a rough spot is good, but,
working, YOURSELF, at a job, is better. Then, you can help others get out of THEIR hardships.
Jesus also said: But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
I believe this can be applied to the man who prefers begging over going to work.
I’m just frustrated, and about to give up, in here, trying to show you that I’m not a meanie.
It is better to teach a man to fish, than to hand a fish to a man.
One way enables him to provide for himself, but the other way keeps him oppressed.
