"Work from the left"?

I’m wanting to knit a heart applique to attach to some wristers I made for my daughter. I found a little chart/pattern. I’m not sure yet if it is the right sized heart that I’m looking for, but I thought I would see if I can do this pattern. I know how to do all the stitches involved but where it gets me is that on Row 2, it says, “The second row of the pattern is worked from the left.” What does that mean? I assume it means to hold the needle with the CO’s in my left hand and start knitting. But then I got nervous that I was wrong. Then in Row 3, it says, “Row 3 is worked in the opposite direction, from right to left.” What does that mean?? Apparently, I’m not ready for this pattern, that I thought looked so simple.

On the other wristers I have knitted, I added some crocheted embellishments. I’d like to make these new ones to be totally knitted. I guess I can set them aside until I’m ready for this pattern. I’m also planning on making her some seed stitch wristers, tonight, to learn that stitch.

I think what it’s telling you is that Row 1 is worked from right to left “on the chart” and that Row 2 is worked from left to right “on the chart”, and therefore Row 3 would be worked from right to left “on the chart”… Make sense?

Oh, thanks! I’m so glad that I asked! I would have never figured that out on my own! I was reading too far into it…I was thinking that I was going to have to knit backwards or something. lol
