Work 3 rows even?!

Hi everyone! I am very new to knitting…only started 2 weeks ago. I am on project #3 already (I am really enjoying it) but came to a road block in my instructions today!!

The pattern gives me these instructions:
1st row: K20. (K2tog) 10 times. Knit to end of row. 50 sts.
2nd row: Purl.
3rd row: K4. K2tog. *K8. K2tog. Rep from * to last 4 sts. K4. 45 sts.

What does Work 3 rows even mean?

Thanks!

Project 3 in two weeks! You’re doing great!

Work 3 rows even
means to work 3 rows without any increasing or decreasing, so, continuing in the stockinette stitch, you’d purl one row, knit one row, and purl the next.

Thank you soo much for your quick response!! Now I can get back to knitting!!
