Hi all, I’m new here and so happy I found this forum. I am working on a large cardigan and have completed the back piece, but stuck on a part of the instructions for the side piece to shape the armholes! It reads:
Cast off 7 sts at beg of next row. 85 sts.
Work 1 row.
I am stuck on which row the ‘work 1 row’ is referring to - is it the same as the cast off row or the following one? So do the instructions mean cast off 7 sts, finish off the row in the same pattern and then work the following 1 row as per the pattern? OR does it mean cast off 7 sts, then finish off the row per the pattern?
I hope this makes sense. Thanks so much.

Welcome to the forum!
Gorgeous coat. Work one row means to continue the row in pattern. So no cast off, just a row with no increases or decreases.
Thanks! So just to be really clear, after I cast off the 7 stitches, I complete that row. Then the following row is the ‘work 1 row’?
Yes, that’s correct, the following row is worked with no inc or dec.
