I am making some arm warmers and I am just about to start the thumb area…
My pattern says :
“Knit over 20 stitches in pattern, PM, M1, M1, PM, work to end.”
I cannot figure out what to do here? Can anyone help me out and explain?
Thanks!!

knit 20 stitches using the pattern you have been. place a marker.
Make one twice
place a marker.
continue in pattern to finish the round.
What MMario said. The M1 is made by lifting the strand of yarn between 2 sts and knitting it through the back loop.
I know I am not answering your question but I just joined because I am stuck on an baby afghan project and I cannot even figure out how to ask my question. So here goes. I am knitting a Noah’s Ark afghan that includes knitted animals and the ark to apply to the afghan once it is finished. The instructions simply say to sew them on using the picture as a guide. But sew it on with what? What do you guys feel would be the best to secure them with making the afghan look ugly?
You could use the same yarn, or unply it and use a thinner strand of it.
