Wool Substitution?

I have a lovely cable pattern that i thought was for aran but its actually for dk. Am i able to use aran instead of dk?

You can, as its really only one thickness up.

You’ll need to do a gauge swatch. Depending on what you are making, you may need to use one size larger needle to maintain the desired drape (mostly for clothing). This will create a larger object so you may need to make a smaller size (for clothing) or cast on fewer repeats (blanket) to get the desired size.

Ah i see. thanks for your advice. probably best if i find an aran pattern, I really don’t have the skills to alter patterns like that yet
