Wondering what this means in my pattern?

I am almost done with my first project (the hat), and towards the very end, for the last 2 rows it says:

Next round: K1[1,0]. *K2tog. Repeat from * around.

Next round: K1[0,0]. *K2tog. Repeat from * around.

This sounds like greek to me! I have no idea what it is saying to do. :??

I’m guessing that there are multiple sizes. So, for the first part, you would knit however many stitches would correspond to the size you’re knitting. After that, just knit 2 stitches together for the rest of the round.

What are you making? It helps if you can give us a link to the pattern and more info when asking questions. The numbers in parenthesis are usually other sizes. So you are just going to k2tog (knit two together) around the project it seems.

It is the coronet hat pattern,

I am in the “hat body” part.

So, actually the step before says K0[1,0]. *K2tog. Repeat from * around.

I am doing the first size (smallest), so I suppose when the pattern says K0[1,0], I would knit no single stitches, and just knit 2 together all the way around?

Then when it says: K1 [1,0] *K2tog. Repeat from *around.
I suppose I would knit one single stitch, then knit 2 stitches together all the way around.

Then for the last round, which says K1[0,0]. *K2tog. Repeat from * around. do the same exact thing for the last round, Knit 1 stitch, then knit 2 together all the way around.

exactly! :yay:

Yaaay!! :happydance:

One other thing, when it says: K1 [1,0] *K2tog. Repeat from *around.

I would knit 1 stitch, then all the rest of them knit 2 together. I would not knit one, knit 2 together, knit one, knit two together, right?

the first one, K1 sts and then K2 tog all the rest.

Essentially you’ve got an odd number of stitches on the needle after a round, so you can’t knit all of them two together. Or they want to off-set the stitches so that the decreases don’t make a line.

Thank you songbirdy!

Yay I finished it!

Way to go!:yay:

Post a picture to the FO section! [if you can of course!]

:star: :star: :star:

[and then me notices that a picture has loaded here, lol! Way to go because that turned out REALLY nice!]

Thank you! I definately could not have done it without the help of this site. This place has basically taught me to knit!

This is your 1st project???

Holy crap- I am so glad I didn’t read that when I first started knitting- I would have quit. It looks great! (and nothing like my lopsided garter scarf 1st project!)

Great job!
