Wip

Here is my current WIP on the needles. Dishcloth 2.0.

I started just doing stockinette stitch, but got so BORED with all the purling, so since it is just a dishcloth, and is going to be mine, so it doesn’t have to look pretty. Besides, half my reason for doing discloths is that it is a perfect way to practice stiches. So anywho, I switched to seed stich 1/3 of the way through. Much more interesting to knit. I worked on it for a hour at lunch.

This is my second dishcloth, and I love the first one I made. It is upstairs on the sink right now, gets used all the time.

What is your favorite dishcloth cotton?

I am using Lily Sugar N’ Cream. Can’t remember the color, but it is a nice lavender. Need to pick up some more this weekend…:knitting:

That’s a pretty color and looks great!

I usually use Tahki Cotton Classic yarn for dishcloths. I like the weight and the color stays pretty longer IMO. It’s a little more expensive though so stick to the cheaper stuff for learning.

Oh and I usually do some variation of garter for dishcloths. Not straight garter, but with a pattern and texture.

It is a lovely colour!
I think dish cloths are a great way to start knitting. They don’t take a lot of time and you can knit them with every stitch you learn.
In the end you have something you made yourself - it’s beautiful and useful as well.

You are doing great and seem to be really getting the hang of knitting!:yay: I noticed in another post that you were admiring the Feather and Fan pattern. Why not try it out with the dishcloth? I posted the link to the dishcloth pattern. It will give you lots of practice with YO’s and K2togs which I bet you’d be able to easily handle at this point or very soon. Good Luck!:knitting: Jeanie

Thanks for the pattern link, Knittykins!
I haven’t even started on y2g or YO’s, so that will have to go in the ‘in a little bit’ file :aww:

Tema: I love how quickly I can knit up the cloths (instant gratification FTW!) and yes, I adore having something I can use every day. I can’t wait to get a stack made up. I love the first one I made.

Hmm…I am having a premonition of Christmas future…dishcloths for everyone!! :teehee:
