Just had to share this. I love the way it’s coming out! It’s from a pattern in Vogue Knitting American Collection so you’ll have to go to the library and get the book. The pattern is actually for a shawl, but I wanted to test it on something small. The yarn recommended is discontinued apparently and the company never wrote back to tell me what gauge and weight was used so I decided to try Patons Lacette. I used smaller needles than the ones recommended in the pattern, but still much larger than the ones recommended for the yarn. It’ll need blocking, but isn’t it pretty! Completely reversible, too! Oh and it’s a 24 st cable done ever 24 rows.
Thanks for the comments! Unfortunately I think it’s going to be too scratchy for me. It feels nice on my hands, but my neck skin is sensitive. :wall: I’ll finish it anyway, my daughter might be able to wear it. I’m looking for something else that might work that is not a problem.
oooh that looks so soft! Know what you mean about necks though - perhaps it could be worn over a roll neck jumper? (or turtle neck as known in the US!)
Jan, the scarf looks lovely. I always thought that cables were hard until I tried and found out that they are fun (as I’m sure you know). I think that is would also look nice in a chunky yarn.
