Yes, it is knit…just a series of YOs, skps, k2togs and sk2ps done to create the design. The stitches are not really difficult. I think the most difficult thing is to make sure none of them slip off accidently. The embroidery hoop is to stretch it out so you could see the facets. Once it is complete and off the needles, it will be starched and blocked.

Beautiful! I love it. I just knit my first lace doily (much smaller and less intricate) and I would love to someday be able to knit a piece like this. I can’t wait to see it finished.

The ladies on the Armenian side of my family were all tatters. (Not in tatters, they tatted.:teehee: ) I have some very beautiful “antimicassers” that they made. Not my style, but they are very pretty.
