WIP: Baby Moc-A-Socs

I just fell in love with these booties as soon as I saw them:inlove:

For some seriously cute baby boy goodness, you just can’t beat this Bekah Knits’ pattern. For the moccasin, I had to go down from the recommended sport weight yarn to fingering yarn to get gauge. On the next pair, I may have to rework the pattern to go up just 1 more stitch per inch for my eyes sake. :eyes:

They’re a really quick knit - I just started it on the 2nd and worked on it in-between house chores.

One down, one more to go, in plenty of time to send off for my best friend’s first grandson for Christmas.

Oh, Charlotte, that is just too adorable! That Christmas present gaurentees happy feet and cozy toes. Your friend will be delighted, too, I’m sure.

Oh, how could you not fall in love with these :inlove: absolutely adorable!

I love it! That is just too darned cute. I’d want to keep them just to look at! Tell your friend how lucky the GS is to get them. If she doesn’t believe it, point her to this thread.

Thanks everybody! :grphug:

I’m just pleased as punch that I actually got the mattress stitching right on only the 2nd try. Two skills added on this project: mattress stitch and picking out mattress stitch. Cha-Ching!:woot:

Adorable! I’ve always loved those, too. Also love the other patterns! I have the baby Merry Janes, but haven’t made them yet. These adult ones are nifty, too.

Good for you! Funny how learning a new skill always seems to involve learning to undo. Still, BOGO!

Seeing small stitches for me involves bright light and taking my glasses off. You need one of those magnifying lights on your wishlist. Maybe you can get one 1/2 off or something. Skinny yarn is fun IMO and I’d hate to have to give it up.

I want the Mary Janes for grownups too. Those would be cool gifts for my daughter and granddaughter.

Oh you’re so right! They are perfect for a baby boy! Great knitting!

That is so darling! Nothing cuter than baby booties!

There’s Merry Jane for grown ups ?!

I haven’t looked. Wishful thinking probably.

I went on a baby pattern splurge a few months ago. Pattern and yarn love and acquisition went hand in hand back then. Got the baby mocs, merry janes, and the clogs, plus yarn for all. :inlove: Have yet to do the latter 2, but if they’re as easy as the mocs, the next baby to come around may likely get one of them, depending on gender.

I posted pics of the mocs on FB, and a bunch of grown ups chimed in wanting adult sizes of the Moc, which wasn’t available then. It is now, as is the adult clog. Dunno if I want to go there yet, from what i can gather, the adult clog is felted after starting the sock, then the sock is finished. :zombie: But who knows what I’ll decide to work on after Christmas.:teehee:

I’ll always take that BOGO, GG!

I guess I should’ve clarified a bit more on the skinny yarn thing. This particular color approaches being too dark for me to see comfortably at small gauges. It would be nice if someone made 10x magnifying glasses. I’ll figure something out because I have no intention of giving up skinny yarn.

The moc pattern should be relatively easy to rework to go up in gauge to 7 per inch on size 3s (my favorite easy to see skinny yarn needle & gauge), the sock is no big deal because it’s white or near enough. To mix project threads, the Georgie Porgie book got here, and its gauge is 7sts/inch and will be cream so I’m set up beautifully there for eye comfort and gauge. :woohoo:

I haven’t seen the grown up Merry Janes on Bekah’s site  but she does have the grown up clog pattern: Really, really nice clogs.

Just too darned cute!

Judy

I’ve always liked that pattern, too, although I haven’t ever made it. Glad to know that it knits up quickly, too!

Very cute!

Finally got the cute little buggers finished in between babysitting and our monthly family dinner convocation that was hosted by me! :woot:
Here’s hoping that the link to my Rav page with a pic works: I’m a techno idiot on my iPad when it come to uploading photos.

How sweet! As they are for a boy, I’ll say they are very handsome. You done good!

Those are just sweet :inlove: omg you can almost imagine the little bundle of joy wearing these! Good job, getting these out for Christmas with plenty of time to spare.
