Wimple with Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk yarn

This Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk has been sitting around being fondled LONG ENOUGH! Time to turn it into a garment.

I’ve decided to make a wimple to wear on my head during the cold months. It should feel HEAVENLY around my face!

I friggen heart that colour man!

I should remember that so I can fondle some at my LYS soon :stuck_out_tongue:

well I have no clue what a wimple is  but that color is amazingly beautiful!!

I agree I dont know what a Wimple is either. I loveeeeeeeee the wool. Please let us know what it is. I think I need one … :teehee:

 Sharon

A wimple is a cowl … like this

Sandy, that is going to be gawgeous, dahlin…gawgeous :cheering:

Oh thats lovely another thing for my list :teehee:

 Sharon

Thanks, my friends! :muah:

Sorry for the delay in responding. I stay up all night knitting, and sleep until noon, before going to teach piano lessons in the late afternoon and evening.

Thanks for answering about the wimple, Rebecca!

The photo below shows another wimple, being worn as a hood. Mine is a different design - just simple seed stitch at the face and stockinette the rest of the way. Here is the pattern for the wimple pictured below.

ohhhhhh ok…well that is just lovely!! thanks Rebecca and Carolina!!

Gorgeous yarn in such a pretty color!! It’ll be lovely!!

I wasn’t sure what a wimple was either… but it reminded me of something a nun wears I think. It’s going to be pretty!

Well, I’ve been a church organist for 27 years, so I guess I ALMOST qualify as a nun! :teehee:

I love that color, too. I think pumpkin/cinnamon/burnt orange/terra cotta colors go greatly unappreciated. It looks sumptuous.

Stunning colour! Can’t wait to see it done!

I’ve been carrying my wimple with me, and working on it when I can. It’s a little longer now. The seed stitch edge is the part that will go around my face.

I had to get a “friend” to hold down the wimple so I could get a decent photo. One of my piano students gave me a bag full of stuffed animals for my new grand-daughter!
