I want to make a quick crisscross headband. I found a pattern on Ravelry (crisscross headband- knits by Brit) she used bernat blanket. Which I actually have some for a current blanket project but not sure if I should tap into one of the skeins ( not sure how much yarn the headband will take) But I do have a skein of lion brand hometown which is also super bulky (6). But the pattern uses the recommended yarn with size 11 needle while the hometown recommends a 13 needle on the label. So the long and short is any yarn 6 weight going to work. Is there a way to figure out how many yards the headband will take
The needle to use is going to depend on the gauge given in the pattern. Gauge may not be so critical here as it’s likely a small number of sts needed.
What is the name of your pattern?
It’s “ crisscross headband” designer Knits by brit. I did a swatch with size 11 and it matches stitches and rows off 1/2 to 1 row less. But upon further inspection the band is not very wide. Only cast on 4 and inc to 8. I’m trying to find something wider with the crisscross but in the meantime I might still do this one anyway.
It’s not very many sts but it is superbulky yarn so it looks quite comfortable in the photos on the Ravelry page.

Hi
The yarn/meter length is on the the ravelry page if that helps you decide whether to start a new skein or not?
