Why Does it Say P2 P Instead of P3?

I’m new to knitting and my question may expose that!! I am doing a DIAMOND HILL LOOP CELTIC CABLE PATTERN and I don’t understand why it would’nt just say P3. Am I missing something here? Thank you

Very pretty cable pattern.
The pattern designer is uses a color coded system to differentiate the different cable patterns. One possibility is that the P, P2 or P2, P falls at the division between patterns. So to keep the cables separate in the pattern, the sts are divided this way.
